From dress code dramas to ‘will there be food?’—(yes, chill…😌)—here are the rapid-fire answers.
Who is attending this training?
Over 400 student staff and hall government members from all corners of UCLA Residential Life.
Speaking of corners of Residential Life, what are they:
Residential Life is made up of 10 units that you will learn more about: Academics & First Year Experience, Central Services, Leadership & Involvement, Learning Centers, Program & Event Management, Human Resources, Finance, Organizational Development, Residential Education, and Student Conduct & Community Standards.
Is there a dress code?
Casual and appropriate attire + comfy footwear.
What time do I need to arrive daily?
Check-in with your supervisor. Each day, there are a myriad of activities, beginning at 8:00 am with Morning Wellness and N.A.P. after lunch. Your supervisor will inform you of the time and place to meet.
Will there be food?
Breakfast, lunch, and dinner will be provided. If you have dietary needs we are not meeting, let your supervisor know.
Is this a hybrid training?
No. It is a fully in-person 11-day training.
What is N.A.P. all about? Are we actually taking naps?
Well…N.A.P. aka No Activity Period runs 1:00–1:30 PM, it’s your time! Use it however you need, and if a quick power nap fits and you’re ready for your 1:30 session, more power to you.
What if I can’t make it to some sessions?
Please coordinate any request to miss a session with your supervisor. This training is designed to prepare you for your role, so if you’re absent, they’ll need to arrange a makeup plan.
Will I have fun?
We’ve designed this to be fun and intentional and your positive energy will make it everything it can be.
