Building Check-in Locations
Dykstra - De Neve Front Desk
Acacia, Cedar, Dogwood - Outside Cedar
Holly - Outside Holly (note truck to transport carts up)
Birch - Outside Evergreen
How It Works
From Charles E. Young Drive West, cars will turn into the De Neve Turnaround. CSOs will ensure traffic continues to flow past De Neve Acacia toward the Dykstra De Neve Lot (Lot DD). After entering Lot DD, cars proceed to P2 where they will be greeted by move-in staff. Drivers will then be guided to pull halfway into diagonal parking spaces for unloading. Guests using long-term will be encouraged to utilize BruinWalk to make their way back up to De Neve Court.
Step-by-Step Traffic Flow
Step 1: Queueing & Lane Assignment
- Verify residents are in the right location by asking “Hi, where are you looking to move-in to?”
- Cars are queued into a designated lane leading up to the second floor of the DD Lot.
- Drivers should park diagonally toward the leftmost parking spaces on the second floor to maximize unloading space and maintain smooth traffic flow.
Step 2: Unloading Process
- As cars arrive on Level 2 of the lot, True Bruin Ambassadors (TBAs) should be stationed with moving carts to assist families with unloading belongings.
- Drivers should be encouraged to stay with their vehicles whenever possible to reduce congestion.
- TBAs can direct families toward elevators or pathways leading to their residence halls after unloading.
Step 3: Exit Procedure
- Once the vehicle is completely unloaded, drivers will make a U-turn at the “elbow” of the second and third floors to exit the Lot.
- Staff will direct vehicles toward long-term parking areas (Lot 8).
Tips & Tricks for this Location
- Holly Residents will load their carts onto a truck in the Bradley Turnaround (Top of lot DD). Residents and guests may walk up to Holly and reunite with their carts, which will be driven uphill for them and delivered to the front of Holly.
