How It Works
Gayley Avenue serves as the primary curbside unloading zone for students moving into De Neve Gardenia, De Neve Fir, and De Neve Evergreen. This location requires careful traffic coordination due to its public road access and limited curb space. Guests using long-term will be encouraged to utilize Bruinwalk to make their way back up to De Neve Court.
Step-by-Step Traffic Flow
Step 1: Arrival on Gayley Avenue
- Verify residents are in the right location by asking “Hi, where are you looking to move-in to?”
- Residential Life staff vehicles approaching Gayley Avenue and assign cars to furthest available unloading space in front of Gardenia.
- This area will have multiple spaces designated for vehicles to unload.
Step 2: Curbside Unloading Process
- Cars are queued along the designated unloading lane adjacent to De Neve Gardenia.
- Drivers are reminded to stay with their vehicles during unloading.
- True Bruin Ambassadors (TBAs) are stationed along the unloading area to assist families with moving carts and guiding them toward their respective building entrances.
Step 3: Exit Procedure
- Once unloading is complete, drivers are directed to proceed toward long-term parking areas (Lower levels of Lot 4 & Lot 7 for overflow).
- Guests using long-term will be encouraged to utilize BruinWalk to make their way back up to De Neve Court.
